The Era of "Fake News"

Fake News to me:
As President Trump was running for office a big theme that continued to follow his campaign was the saying "fake news". He did start it by accusing CNN and other news broadcasting stations allegedly telling lies or rumors about Donald Trump. Trying to hurt his image and take him out of the race for office. Obviously their efforts did not succeed but that did not stop these news broadcasters. Even now while President Trump carries out his presidency "fake news" is still a reoccurring phrase said by Trump and his many supporters. Whether or not these accusations are true or not it seemed to have damaged Trump and fueling his nonsupport's, but it also damaged CNN and other sources as well. People seemed to not trust theses sources as much anymore because they have been caught lying before.
When the United States went overseas to Iraq the reason and motive that we went over there was a lot different then what we were told. We as citizens were told that Saddam Hussein who was the Dictator over in Iraq was treating his people inhumanly. Starving, torturing, and slaughtering his own people is what we were told. We were also told that he had Weapons of Mass Destruction that would bring harm to his own country and the ones surrounding it. As the dominate country which we are the government felt the need to get involved. In reality however there were no weapons, there was no torture. The US went over to Iraq and the Middle East for oil and control. To convert the dictatorship into a democracy even against the people's will that lived in Iraq. The way the government lied to us is just another example of "fake news" as Donald Trump would say.
